To Do

  • 2003121806: when draft has not changed in 1 week, submit to RFC Editor.
  • libspfquery - Jasper Wallace is working on it
    • when done, tell Qualcomm; they want a plugin for Eudora
  • SpamAssassin will introduce SPF in 2.70
  • plugin for mailfront
  • Tim O'Reilly requested an article for OnLamp.com
  • article for Linux Journal

Done

  • sendmail milter
  • pluggable policy daemon for postfix v2 (Wietse has rearchitected Postfix to be more plugin-friendly)
  • patches to qmail: done: plugin is in the qpsmtpd development CVS repository.
  • exim acl
  • some kind of validator.html (wizard.html and why.html?debug=1 do this)

Patent Issues

There are already lots of patents in the spam arena. (Also this.)

Meng is considering taking out a defensive patent on this architecture for exactly one reason: we don't want to get sued for infringing someone else's patent, bogus or not. Patent it, then declare it public domain, and we sidestep a a quagmire of Intellectual Property issues.
